Adult Education--Fall offerings
--Weekly Bible Study: Starting September 11th, will resume Wednesday mornings at 10 AM in the Sanctuary. We have finished the Book of Exodus and will advise on the next book we will be discussing.
--Book-of-the-Two-Months Club: The Great Transition will be discussed via Zoom in October. Click here for more information on this and other Adult Education information.

Celebration of Ministry September 22nd
Join us for this special Holy Eucharist service, celebrated by The Rt. Rev. Thomas J Brown, Bishop of Maine, on Sunday, September 22nd at 4 pm. We will celebrate Amanda's ministry and acknowledge her becoming our Rector this Spring. We will also celebrate the many wonderful ministries and lay leaders of St. Bart's who help to make our community a joyful expression of our Christian tradition in Yarmouth. A festive reception will follow the service. Please note there will still be a regular morning service on the 22nd at 9:30 am.

16th Annual Yarmouth Art Festival--October 16th through 19th
Entries have been submitted for the 16th annual Yarmouth Art Festival, a juried show held at St. Bart's each year. Entry fees and sales commissions will support three local nonprofits: St. Elizabeth’s Essentials Pantry; Niweskok, a collaboration of food and medicine providers who are working to rematriate traditional Wabanaki foods and healing practices for Wabanaki people; and Maine Afro Yoga Project, which has a focus on mental health and wellness primarily for people of color and immigrants. Last year, the art show raised $15,000 for local nonprofits.

Annual Lobster Bake Fundraiser a Success
Thanks again to Captain Jeff Diggins for being willing to provide fresh lobsters for our Lobster-Dinner-to-Go fundraiser. All net proceeds--about $3,900--from this event are donated to YCHI (Yarmouth Compassionate Housing Initiative).

Huge turnout for Second Annual Cornhole Tournament
Newcomers and old timers stayed after coffee hour to have fun playing Cornhole.

Great turnout for second annual Sea Dogs Game gathering
We sold 34 tickets for our second annual gathering to cheer on the Sea Dogs. The weather was perfect and fun was had by all! A portion of our sales will be donated to Maine Needs.

Presentation: Local Resources for Caregivers of Loved Ones with Dementia
Families and friends caring for loved ones with dementia were invited to a special presentation at St. Bart's on May 21st on local support resources. The presentation was led by Lori Campbell, MA, LSW. Lori is a licensed social worker and a Family Caregiver Resource Specialist in Southern Maine Agency on Aging’s Family Caregiver Support Program. New Members Welcome Sunday held May 19th
Rev. Amanda officially welcomed 19 persons as new members of the congregation during the Sunday morning service on May 19th. A special coffee hour included cake. We are delighted to welcome these new folks and families to our parish, many of whom already are actively engaged in various ways.

Second Annual Day of Service has another great turnout
A total of 47 parishioners, including families and new members, participated in our second Day of Service. We fulfilled 50 orders for clothing, kitchenware, and bath supplies at Maine Needs. We planted lots of cabbage and onions at Growing 2 Give. We played games with children at Greater Portland Family Promise and packed supplies for Partners for World Health. Volunteers were rewarded with a delicious lunch back at St Bart’s, thanks to the hard work of Michele Johns, Deb Wathen-Finn and their cooking team. Thanks to all!

St. Bart's hosted its first community Holiday Sing Along on December 9th. Over 55 attendees of all ages sang classic holiday songs, accompanied by our Music Director Christina Edelen on piano. We also held a Food Drive for potatoes and carrots to be donated to the Yarmouth Food Pantry. This is sure to become a new tradition. Thanks go to our Emcee Laurie Hyndman, as well as our poetry readers.

A joyful celebration attended by over 90 guests, including past rectors, visiting clergy and the Bishop of Maine! Many thanks go out to the group of hard-working cooks and clean up crew!

15th Yarmouth Art Festival held October 18th -21st sets new records
The Art Show is a premier juried showcase for Maine artists since 2009.
The online show and sale continued through Nov. 4. A total of 683 pieces were submitted by 186 artists from all over Maine, and jurors were challenged to select only 165 pieces that can be displayed in our space.
A record 86 pieces were sold netting over $15,000, another record.
All proceeds will go to St. Elizabeth’s Essentials Pantry; Friendship House; Greater Portland Family Promise (GPFP); In Her Presence (IHP); and Yarmouth, Falmouth, Cumberland and Freeport Food Pantries. Many thanks to the 40+ volunteers who made the 2023 show a success!

St. Bart's hosts the Annual Maine Marathon Water Stop again this year
Thanks to all the St Bart's folks who helped out on October 1st at this year's official Water Stop. Always a fun event for all and much appreciated by the runners. Our volunteers all received a snazzy t-shirt for the Maine Marathon organization.

Welcome back Sunday celebrates new members and our school kids
Church service on September 10th was filled with 18 new members/families and our children who attended the first Sunday school class of the season. Rev. Amanda offered a special blessing to our school kids and their backpacks. New members gathered at the altar for a special blessing and welcome from Rev. Amanda.

We sold 91 lobster dinners and raised over $4,500 including donations. All proceeds go to the Yarmouth Compassionate Housing Initiative. Thanks to the Membership Committee for pulling it all together, and especially to Captain Jeff Diggins for his many hours spent lobstering and cooking the lobsters for all us to enjoy Saturday evening.

Bishop Brown spent Sunday morning, May 7, at St. Bart's, celebrating worship with us and consecrating the Memorial Garden. It was a wonderful few hours having our Bishop in our midst and celebrating the Memorial Garden together.
