Sunday Services
The Sunday service starts at 9:30 AM. Masks are optional. Masks are provided for those who would like to wear them. Daycare service is provided every Sunday through June 2nd.

Annual Fellowship Event -- Sea Dogs game on June 7th
Don't miss out on the fun to gather together and watch the Sea Dogs play. The game starts at 6 PM and a St Bart's parishioner may get to throw out the first ball!

Great turnout for our Third Annual Day of Service on May 3rd
47 parishioners volunteered at 5 different non-profits and then gathered back at St. Bart’s for a delicious cookout/luncheon. This is a collaborative way of expanding our outreach and generating interest and momentum for serving our communities via local organizations.

Supporting the Maine Civil Rights Act
Many St. Bart's members were among the several hundred people who turned out on a cold Maine Sunday morning to support LGBTQIA+ students, neighbors and friends, the Maine Principals Association, and Governor Mills for standing up for state law: the Maine Civil Rights Act.

Outreach opportunities discussion group

Many St Bart's parishioners gathered after the Sunday church service to hear from the Founder of In Her Presence, a Portland-based non-profit organization supporting immigrant women and families. Language acquisition, career counseling and job placement, and promoting community connections are some of the initiatives this group undertakes. John Hennessy, Director of Public Policy for the Diocese, joined in the discussion to share Episcopal Church initiatives in support of the immigrant community.

Christmas Fair on Saturday, December 7th
Another very successful Christmas Fair was held on December 7th with terrific offerings of gourmet frozen foods, baked goods and jams, homemade fudge, stunning crafts, beautiful tabletop greenery arrangements, jewelry, scarves and handbags, Silent Auction, books and puzzles. Thank you to the a capella group who made the event more festive, singing holiday tunes in the morning. Many thanks to the Co-chairs of the Fair, table chairs and all who helped make this a successful and joyful event.

16th Annual Yarmouth Art Festival--$15,000 raised for non-profits
Another successful Art Festival! Funds will support three local nonprofits: St. Elizabeth’s Essentials Pantry; Niweskok, a collaboration of food and medicine providers who are working to rematriate traditional Wabanaki foods and healing practices for Wabanaki people; and Maine Afro Yoga Project, which has a focus on mental health and wellness primarily for people of color and immigrants.

Fellowship Gathering on October 6th--Lunch and Disc Golf at Pineland Farms
A lovely day having lunch at Pineland Farms in New Gloucester followed by a rousing game of disc golf. A beautiful setting to enjoy fellowship and embrace the outdoors. Fun was had by all.

A Celebration of Ministry led by The Rt. Rev. Thomas J Brown
The Bishop of Maine, The Rt. Rev. Thomas Brown, led a beautiful service on September 22nd in recognition of Rev. Amanda Gerken-Nelsen as our Rector. A joyful reception outdoors followed the service. We are so grateful to have Rev. Amanda as our official Rector!

Annual Lobster Bake Fundraiser a Success
Thanks again to Captain Jeff Diggins for being willing to provide fresh lobsters for our Lobster-Dinner-to-Go fundraiser. All net proceeds--about $3,900--from this event are donated to YCHI (Yarmouth Compassionate Housing Initiative).

Huge turnout for Second Annual Cornhole Tournament
Newcomers and old timers stayed after coffee hour to have fun playing Cornhole.
We were blessed with a beautiful Sunday for this fun event. All ages and skill levels participated. Thanks to all who donated their cornhole games.

Great turnout for second annual Sea Dogs Game gathering
We sold 34 tickets for our second annual gathering to cheer on the Sea Dogs. The weather was perfect and fun was had by all! A portion of our sales will be donated to Maine Needs.

New Members Welcome Sunday held May 19th
Rev. Amanda officially welcomed 19 persons as new members of the congregation during the Sunday morning service on May 19th. A special coffee hour included cake. We are delighted to welcome these new folks and families to our parish, many of whom already are actively engaged in various ways.

Second Annual Day of Service has another great turnout
A total of 47 parishioners, including families and new members, participated in our second Day of Service. We fulfilled 50 orders for clothing, kitchenware, and bath supplies at Maine Needs. We planted lots of cabbage and onions at Growing 2 Give. We played games with children at Greater Portland Family Promise and packed supplies for Partners for World Health. Volunteers were rewarded with a delicious lunch back at St Bart’s, thanks to the hard work of Michele Johns, Deb Wathen-Finn and their cooking team. Thanks to all!

Holy Week Services well attended
We were blessed with three beautiful services during Holy Week--Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. The Bishop of Maine joined us for a somber and moving Good Friday service. The Easter service was filled to the back of the sanctuary. Our intern Mary Curlew provided an uplifting children's homily.

First Annual Holiday Sing Along garners wide participation
St. Bart's hosted its first community Holiday Sing Along on December 9th. Over 55 attendees of all ages sang classic holiday songs, accompanied by our Music Director Christina Edelen on piano. We also held a Food Drive for potatoes and carrots to be donated to the Yarmouth Food Pantry. This is sure to become a new tradition. Thanks go to our Emcee Laurie Hyndman, as well as our poetry readers.

A joyful celebration attended by over 90 guests, including past rectors, visiting clergy and the Bishop of Maine! Many thanks go out to the group of hard-working cooks and clean up crew!

Bishop of Maine Thomas Brown worships with us on May 7th
Bishop Brown spent Sunday morning, May 7, at St. Bart's, celebrating worship with us and consecrating the Memorial Garden. It was a wonderful few hours having our Bishop in our midst and celebrating the Memorial Garden together.
