Greetings and News! Hello, current and prospective St. Bart’s families! We are thrilled you are here to learn more about our programming and our parish.
The Education Committee met with the wardens and Rev. Amanda in the fall 2022 to discuss the best way to continue supporting our youth of all ages. Our discussions took into consideration the new Vision and Strategies formed by committee heads and approved by the Vestry. One of our goals is to expand Youth offerings outside of the Sunday church service schedule, since families find it challenging to participate every Sunday morning.
We have welcomed and enjoyed the addition of Rev. Amanda’s children’s homily at the beginning of the service. Many thanks to the teachers who have signed up and taught this year to help our youth grow in their spiritual formation. Thanks also to our terrific teenagers who have been providing day care service. Here is our Youth Education Program Calendar Overview
Every month we will hold Sunday School classes as usual on the first Sunday of the month.
Our desire is to have this be the one “special” Sunday that families could reserve for their children to be at church. Children are always welcome in the church service and encouraged to participate in the children's homily. We also offer the opportunity for children to be acolytes.
During the third week of the month we will offer a special event for youth participation, usually on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon or evening. These events will range from fellowship to Outreach volunteering to guest speakers with discussion groups. Many events will include food!
During the summer months of July and August, Sunday School and our daycare providers are on vacation too! A "Kids' Corner" is available in the back of the sanctuary for summer services. We will start up again in September.

Monthly Family Events September--Apple picking and pie making On September 30th, we will all meet at Thompson's Orchards in New Gloucester at 9:30 AM. We'll pick apples together and then come back to St. Bart's to make applesauce and apple pies. These will be donated to Friendship House. Bags of apples will be donated to Yarmouth Food Pantry.
We will keep you updated as we have more details for the school year. We are always happy to hear any feedback you would like to share with the Committee. We want to ensure we continue to support our youth of all ages and provide them with meaningful programs that will help them grow in their spiritual formation. Please reach out to anyone on the Education Committee with further questions: Dennis Fitzgibbons (Chair), Mary Curlew, Maria Guarino, Elizabeth Gillan , Julie Bliven
As always, all children are welcome to attend all or part of any service with their families. We have "Activity bags" in the entry way of church--the Narthex--for them to engage with during the service.
We will continue to work hard to enrich your children’s spiritual formation journey, making it fun and engaging along the way.
